Rester operates the largest mechanical textile recycling facility in Northern Europe, processing end-of-life business textiles — workwear, hotel linens, flat linen and manufacturing side streams — back into high-quality recycled fibers. The mechanical process opens textiles to fiber level using only minimal water and non-hazardous chemicals, producing nonwoven, short and spinnable fibers that replace virgin raw material in textiles, technical nonwovens, composites and construction. Founded in 2019, the company began fiber opening operations at its Paimio plant in November 2021 and raised EUR 4.9 million in a second funding round in January 2025.
