Kaikarhenni Oy is a Helsinki-based venture capital platform founded by Dr. Leena Niemistö. Named after her three sons — Kai, Karri, and Henri — the company channels deep healthcare expertise into investments that drive innovation and create lasting impact.
Our Story
Kaikarhenni was established in 2013 by Dr. Leena Niemistö following her tenure as CEO of Dextra Oy, Finland's leading private healthcare provider, and Deputy CEO of Pihlajalinna Oyj. With over three decades of medical and executive experience, Leena built Kaikarhenni as a vehicle to invest in companies transforming healthcare delivery, advancing medical technology, and promoting environmental sustainability.
In 2018, Kaikarhenni co-founded Hippocras LP in partnership with the European Angels Fund (a co-investment vehicle by the European Investment Fund). This EUR 6 million mandate enables Kaikarhenni to make larger, more impactful investments in healthcare innovation across the Nordic region and beyond.
Today, the Kaikarhenni portfolio spans over 50 companies and more than 250 funding rounds. From AI-powered diagnostics and digital health platforms to sustainable mobility and clean technology, our investments reflect a deep commitment to building a healthier, more sustainable future.
